So, as you all know, my uncle has cancer. Today he was told it's germ cell cancer - NOT lung cancer (which is what they thought it was a week ago). Anyway, germ cell cancer is treatable. So, this is good news, right?
It is.
But I feel funny telling people, "Good news! Rob's cancer is germ cell cancer!"
When is any cancer 'good news'? A month ago, before all of this, if our family was told, "Rob has germ cell cancer," we'd all be as devastated as we were last week. I guess since we thought the worst, now this is 'good news.' Right? Perspective - it's a funny thing.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm a glass half full kind of guy, and this is good news - really good news. Now there's a flicker of light in this dark room and all the darkness in the world cannot extinguish that flicker.
Thanks to everyone for their kind words and understanding. Much appreciation and love from my family to you.
