On November 11th, Koreans celebrate Pepero Day! I learned this today from my dear friend Emily who is currently teaching in Vietnam. If you don't follow her blog, you should... http://www.starlightstarbright09.blogspot.com/
I guess Pepero Day is the equivalent to 'our' Valentine's Day. Children and lovebirds exchange chocolate covered pretzel sticks and other small tokens of 'love'. The Pepero, as far as I know, is actually the name of the chocolate covered pretzel stick.
Anyway, I thought I remembered seeing these treats at the grocery store (in the "Asian" section). I went to the store to see, and I was RIGHT! Anyway, I just HAD to celebrate Perero Day. The only problem...I had no one to celebrate it with.
I waited until my sister came home from soccer practice and lo and behold, PEPERO DAY!!
Yeeehaaa
They were actually pretty good!!
Oh, and if you were wondering, November 11 because two Pepero sticks together, look like an "11".
Happy Pepero Day!!
SEAN and ALLY! what a wonderful presentation of love on pepero day!! way to represent those delicious pretzely sticks!! you make me laugh. thanks :)
